Corporate Partner Spotlight: Joy in Childhood Foundation

The FoodBank is thankful for corporate partners that share the dream of combating child hunger so that kids can just be kids. The Joy in Childhood Foundation (formerly The Dunkin’ Donuts & Baskin-Robbins Community Foundation) has been an amazing supporter of our child nutrition programs since 2011, donating funds both directly and through Feeding America grants. Their donations have helped countless hungry kids be happy and healthy, aligning with the Foundation’s mission of bringing joy to sick and hungry kids.

“Nearly 1 in 7 kids in the state of New Jersey face hunger every day,” said Carlos Rodriguez, President & CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “That’s nearly 300,000 children who can’t be carefree as children should be. We’re grateful for the support of partners like the Joy in Childhood Foundation, who share our mission of providing children with the nutrition that they need to concentrate in school, play with their friends, and do all of the things that come with just being kids.”

Their support makes it possible for the FoodBank to distribute nutritious after-school meals at 32 Kids Cafe sites across the state and provide thousands of Family Packs every Friday to help hungry kids and their families.

Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins employees also volunteer at the FoodBank every fall as part of the Foundation’s annual Week of Joy. Last year alone, 87 volunteers packed enough food to provide more than 7,000 meals for families in need.

Our many thanks to the Joy in Childhood Foundation for helping kids in need throughout New Jersey!
