Looking To The Year Ahead

Dear FoodBank Friends,

As we close out 2016 and as 2017 begins to dawn, it seems like a great time to reflect on what we’ve accomplished and the plans we have for the new year.

Last year… We made sure children did not go to bed hungry by providing nutritious evening meals at after-school programs across the state. We filled the emptiness struggling households face over the weekend with our Family Packs. We reached seniors, who have an especially tough time during the winter, with boxes of healthy food to supplement them every month. We focused on distributing more fruits and vegetables to promote good health. These are just a few of the many amazing things the Community FoodBank of New Jersey achieved in 2016 – thanks to your support.

Heading into the new year, we hope to keep up our hunger-fighting momentum by addressing hunger as a health issue. Our 2017 priorities include expanding our fresh produce initiative to inspire healthy generations and reaching pockets of unmet need with food, nutrition education and medical screenings. We want to increase access to food for our most vulnerable population – children – who need healthy food to learn and grow.

The FoodBank’s main goal is to have a hunger-free New Jersey – and we can’t do this without you. We look forward to a 2017 full of food, help and hope, and we wish you and yours a wonderful year ahead.

Warmest wishes,
