Thanks to our Check-Out Hunger® retail partners, the campaign grows every year to make even more of an impact for our neighbors in need. The annual fundraiser runs through January at most major supermarkets and convenience stores, providing a convenient way for consumers to help feed hungry families in the community. By adding a $1, $3, or $5 donation slip at the register, shoppers can easily make a gift as they shop for groceries.
Check-Out Hunger® began in 1991 with three founding partners and has since grown to include Foodtown, Kings, QuickCheck, PriceRite, ShopRite, Wawa, and Wegmans. Last year, their promotion of the campaign helped raise an incredible $750,000 for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
“Check-Out Hunger® is really special because it brings corporations, store employees, volunteers, and shoppers all together to make an impact on hunger in New Jersey,” said Carlos Rodriguez, President & CEO of the Community FoodBank of New Jersey. “The success of the campaign relies on all of these important roles, and we’re grateful to our retail partners for lending us their platforms to help raise funds and awareness around the issue of hunger.”
Premio Foods also serves as the campaign’s statewide sponsor, contributing funds and encouraging their customers to make donations.
