CFBNJ’s Garfield
Unity Pantry
In the City of Garfield: 11.5% of households struggle with food insecurity; residents have a high propensity toward diabetes, obesity, and other diseases; and almost half of children participate in free and reduced price breakfast and lunch programs at school.
Our Impact
The Garfield Unity Pantry offers both wholesome, nutritious food as well as informational resources that will promote improved health.
CFBNJ’s goal is a fully-nourished Garfield. To accomplish this, CFBNJ has built a “client-choice” model community food pantry that brings dignity and trust to our neighbors in need. In collaboration with other partners, CFBNJ seeks to gather community resources that promote affordable access to healthy foods and nutrition education while growing a network of programs to improve the health and well-being of all residents.
