Hunger doesn’t sleep, so neither will we! Join us and our Emerging Leaders Board to kick off Volunteer Appreciation Month in April!
Our volunteers are the backbone of CFBNJ, making a lasting impact year-round. They pack boxes for vulnerable seniors, create Family Packs for weekends when kids miss school meals, and ensure no child goes to bed hungry through our Kids Café program. Our mission would not be possible without the dedication of our incredible volunteers. But after CFBNJ closes for the day, the need persists, and so must our work.
FOOD DRIVE – We will also be collecting our most needed, non-perishable food at the event! Please note: no glass, and all items must be new and in original packaging and must contain nutritional facts.
Support the fight against hunger: sponsor CFBNJ’s 24-Hour Pack-a-Thon, sign up for a volunteer shift, or make a difference with a donation. Recognition on printed materials, including Pack-a-Thon volunteer t-shirts, is due by Friday, February 23. The event RSVP deadline is Friday, March 22.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s 2nd Annual 24-Hour Pack-a-Thon was an incredible success thanks to our volunteers. They were part of a 569-person team, packing 8,414 boxes of food to help New Jersey’s neighbors in need.

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s inaugural 24-hour Pack-a-Thon was a great success! We are thrilled to have made such a difference in the span of one day.
A total of 275 people volunteered at Pack-a-Thon, packing 4,282 boxes of food and making 1,665 nutritious meals for New Jersey neighbors in need!
This is proof that, together, we can accomplish so much. CFBNJ experienced a 44% drop in volunteerism during the pandemic, and you stepped up to help.
But our work doesn’t end here. With 800,000 people in our state still struggling with hunger, I hope that you’ll spread the word about your positive experience this weekend and encourage others to volunteer, as well. Share photos of your Pack-a-Thon experience on social media and ask your friends and family to get involved in the fight against hunger!
