24-Hour Pack-a-Thon

Hunger doesn't sleep, so neither will we!

With the impact of inflation on food costs and the expiration of pandemic-related federal program enhancements, our neighbors are visiting CFBNJ partner pantries for food assistance in even greater numbers than at the height of COVID-19.

The Pack-a-Thon is an integral part of our effort to meet this increased need and provide assistance to those who are struggling to put food on the table. Volunteers will come together for 24 hours straight to pack boxes of non-perishable food items for families in need in New Jersey, to help raise awareness about the increased need in our communities, and to collect funds to support CFBNJ’s efforts to fight food insecurity.

Pack-a-Thon 2022 Highlights & Photos

The Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s inaugural 24-hour Pack-a-Thon was a great success! We are thrilled to have made such a difference in the span of one day.

A total of 275 people volunteered at Pack-a-Thon, packing 4,282 boxes of food and making 1,665 nutritious meals for New Jersey neighbors in need!

This is proof that, together, we can accomplish so much. CFBNJ experienced a 44% drop in volunteerism during the pandemic, and you stepped up to help.

But our work doesn’t end here. With 800,000 people in our state still struggling with hunger, I hope that you’ll spread the word about your positive experience this weekend and encourage others to volunteer, as well. Share photos of your Pack-a-Thon experience on social media and ask your friends and family to get involved in the fight against hunger!
