Like many of you, our focus over the past week has been on Coronavirus (COVID-19) and ensuring the health, safety, and preparedness of our families as we brace for the unknown road ahead.
As it continues to rapidly evolve, we’re faced with the reality that is a local pandemic. The economic fallout on our community and neighbors is happening now and it’s staggering:
- Small Business is shut down – many hourly workers will not be compensated
- SNAP (AKA Food stamps) benefits are running out soon
- Children are without access to school meals
- At risk seniors are facing greater social isolation
Our role in hunger relief efforts is critical. This is our opportunity to step up for our communities. We will make it through this because of the intentions and actions we take today.
If it is in your heart and means to do so: please donate today to help ensure our neighbors in need have enough food during this challenging time and all year long. Every donation makes a difference – just $1 supports 3 meals.
The Community Foodbank of NJ is distributing a record amount of food, including emergency meal boxes to our most vulnerable neighbors in the days, weeks, and months ahead.
Thank you and be well.
