As we enter fall, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey has some fun events and fundraisers to support our cause. Join our efforts by attending one (or more) of our special events and fundraisers.
EVENTS
Willow St. Boutique Fashion Show: On October 5 at 6:30 pm, Willow St. Boutique will host its 2nd annual fashion show at the Summit Elks Lodge (40 Maple Street, Summit). Tickets for the event are free, but an RSVP is required (shanna@willowst.com). The theme of this year’s event is #PhilanthropicFall. The company will highlight select designers who donate to or participate in philanthropic causes as part of their mission. Willow St. will donate a portion of event proceeds to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey.
Atlantic City Weekly’s 50 Bites+: Get your tickets for a food journey through Atlantic City! Your pass will provide more than 50 bites over a period of 50 days — October 12 through November 30 — and a portion of proceeds will benefit our South Jersey hunger-relief efforts.
Boscov’s Friends Helping Friends: October 17 is a special day at Boscov’s! Purchase a $5 shopping pass for Friends Helping Friends and receive a 25 percent discount for the day. Passes are available at our warehouse in Egg Harbor Township (6735 Black Horse Pike).
Sip & Savor Somers Point Kickoff: We’re kicking off Somers Point Restaurant Week with Sip & Savor at Greate Bay Country Club on October 29. Hosts of SNJ Today’s hit restaurant radio show 2 Chicks & A Chef will emcee the event! Tickets are $15 per person, and proceeds will benefit our Southern Branch.
Law Rocks NYC: Law Rocks, a global charity, raises funds for local nonprofits by combining music and the generosity of the legal community. 1981 (Walkers Global) will rocks for the Community FoodBank of New Jersey’s Kids Cafes, which serve nourishing after-school meals to children, and Food Bank for New York City’s Campus Pantries. The band will perform at Law Rocks NYC on November 2 at the Gramercy Theatre in Manhattan. Click here to learn more and get your tickets!
FUNDRAISERS
Hunger Is Fundraiser: Fundraise while shopping at ACME Markets, today through October 15. All you need to do is donate at your local store to help the FoodBank carry out its mission to end hunger in New Jersey.
Nourishing Neighbors at ACME: Another way you can fight hunger at ACME… As part of the Nourishing Neighbors campaign, $0.10 will be donated to the FoodBank for every Thomas’ product you purchase, now through October 26.
Check-Out Hunger®: Add Check-Out Hunger® to your shopping list and visit participating stores through the holiday season to support our mission. It’s a simple and efficient way to help fight hunger. All you need to do is donate at checkout, and 100 percent of your gift will go to your local food bank.
The Mall at Short Hills Rewards Fundraiser: When you spend $250 at The Mall at Short Hills during November, Rewards program members will receive $20 toward their next purchase and the mall will donate $10 to the FoodBank. Sign up to be a Rewards member and start shopping to support our cause!
YOUTH PROGRAM
Students Change Hunger: The statewide food and fund drive competition is underway and runs through December 11. New Jersey schools compete to collect food and funds. At the end of the challenge, the schools that bring in the most food will be presented with awards by their local food banks.
