First-Ever Women Fighting Hunger Luncheon

Our first-ever Women Fighting Hunger Luncheon on Wednesday, May 10, was a great success! This is all thanks to our Event Sponsor Kings Food Markets, Volunteer Hour Sponsor JPMorgan Chase & Co., and support from the Luncheon’s Chairwomen and others. Attendees assembled 458 Family Packs with food to supplement households over the weekend, and the event raised almost $180,000 for the FoodBank’s hunger-relief programs.

Life & Living with Joanna Gagis emceed the event, which focused on our child feeding efforts across New Jersey. The Star-Ledger’s Peter Genovese, New Jersey Monthly Magazine’s Suzanne Lowery and Jersey Bites’ Deborah Smith judged our exciting cooking competition between Chef Ariane Duarte of Ariane Kitchen & Bar and our very own Chef Paul Kapner.

Here is a quick video for a look at the Women’s Luncheon.
