Make The Right To Food A Reality

Hunger is regularly addressed as a global issue. But it also affects people on a local scale.

Human Rights Day – Dec. 10 – commemorates the United Nations General Assembly’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. The document lists the “rights inherent to all human beings.” Among them is the right to food.

According to the UN, the right to food entails that it be available, accessible, adequate and sustainable to all.

Although many organizations work to help those struggling make ends meet, hunger still affects people in every corner of the world, including 1.1 million in New Jersey.

This Human Rights Day, the Community FoodBank of New Jersey pledges to continue fighting against food insecurity.

Together, we can make a difference and spread Food, Help and Hope among the hungry people in the state. Your donation today will help make their right to food a reality.
