The Community FoodBank of New Jersey is proud to receive support from the Summit Area Public Foundation for our food distribution efforts in Summit, New Jersey. The Foundation provides philanthropic assistance to organizations working to meet the needs of the local community in the Summit area and the grant to the FoodBank is helping those Summit residents who do not have enough food to meet their needs.
The FoodBank’s food distribution program is an important part of our effort to address hunger by providing healthy food including fresh fruits and vegetables, dairy products, seafood and meats through our programs and member agencies. The people we reach include families, children, seniors and other vulnerable households. In addition to distributing healthier food through our programs, the FoodBank continues to build more awareness on the important role that nutrition plays in staying healthy. Especially for children to grow well, they need all the good nutrition they can get.
