Volunteer Appreciation Month: Meet Lindsay

Lindsay Norman, Director of Special Projects and Initiatives for the Jewish Community Center of Middlesex County, has been bringing volunteer groups to the Community FoodBank of New Jersey for over a decade. She helps individuals find hands-on volunteer opportunities and encourages them to get involved in their communities.

On one particular day, she brought 25 of her colleagues to the FoodBank for a staff volunteer day. Together, they sorted and packed pasta for distribution to neighbors in need across New Jersey.

“We wanted to get together and do something fun and meaningful,” Lindsay shared.

In addition to bringing volunteer groups to the FoodBank, Lindsay has been a dedicated volunteer herself and enjoys giving back.

“This is just one tangible way that I can help. It makes me feel better that I’m able to do one small part in helping something out there in the world,” Lindsay said.

One of Lindsay’s favorite things about volunteering at CFBNJ is meeting new people, from other volunteers to CFBNJ staff members, who are passionate about doing good.

“Everyone here is so happy, so kind, and so ready to jump in and help,” she said. “I always leave the FoodBank after my volunteer shift feeling great, and I always look forward to coming back!”
